Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a win over Swiss outfit, Young Boys.
Jose Mourinho’s side were the heavy favourites going into the match but that didn't look the case in the early minutes of the game.
United looked lacklustre for the first 35 minutes of the game and could well have been a goal or two down.
But United held firm and took the lead when Paul Pogba hit the back of the net with a beautiful left footed strike.
Mourinho’s side then began to take control as the French midfielder notched his second from the penalty spot.
Anthony Martial than netted in the second-half to give United a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Diogo Dalot was given his first chance to shine in a United shirt.
The Portuguese defender arrived from Porto in a £19 million deal this summer but has failed to play for the first team due to injury.
He has played a few games for the U23’s but he was finally handed a start by Mourinho in the Champions League.
The 19-year-old made an impressive start as he marauded down the right wing.
He made a number of surges forward and looked to put a cross into the box at all times.
United fans were watching the 19-year-old with a keen eye and understandably his debut brought about quite a reaction.
While United fans were impressed with his debut, it was his attacking ability and crossing that caught their eye the most.
He put in a dangerous cross within just minutes into the game that impressed United fans greatly.
Antonio Valencia has been a mainstay at right-back for the club over the years but United fans were quick to note how superior Dalot was to him in that department.
Dalot also had a rather fortuitous moment where he beat a his man with a misplaced touch, but he still showed great pace and energy to beat his man.
It was a very encouraging debuting from the Portuguese youngster.
As well as showing his talent in attack, he also looked assured in defence as his side kept a clean sheet.
At just 19 years old, there is no doubt that he will be at the club for many years to come.
It will be interesting to see how Mourinho uses him throughout the rest of the season.News Now - Sport News
