When the new NBA season kicks off in around a month's time, the Boston Celtics will play at full strength for the first time since the opening game of last season.

Their two main stars in Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving will be returning to the court from injury in order to bring the 7team back to full strength.

Hayward suffered an ankle injury in that opening game of last season for the Celtics against the Cleveland Cavaliers and has been out of action since this night.

Irving, on the other hand, playing during the season for Boston, but missed the end of the campaign and the playoffs due to requiring knee surgeries.

However, with the new season on the horizon, both players are fit and ready to play. The team will not be taking any precautions either regarding their minutes on the court.

Speaking to Jay King of The Athletic, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has said he will not be limiting the number of minutes either Hayward or Irving plays.

Stevens said: “I’m not sure I anticipate that with either of those guys from everything I’ve been told thus far. I think they’ve really — they’ve made great strides.”

This is great news for Celtics fans as they're one of the favourites to take over the Eastern Conference this season following the departure of LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer.

Stevens has been overly cautious when it comes to injuries with his players in the past, but this doesn't look to be the case this time around after what has been a good offseason in terms of recovery for both Irving and Hayward.

The forward has recently begun competing in 5-on-5 workouts and he has stated in pressers as well that he’s “basically at 100 percent.”

The point guard, on the other hand, recently completed his rehab from his knee surgery and has already been seen in the Miami Heat’s gym playing scrimmages with the likes of James Harden and Kevin Durant.
