Amazon’s ‘Manchester City: All or Nothing’ was a huge success.

The television series provided a behind-the-scenes look as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to the Premier League title last season.

These documentaries are becoming a common thing in football after achieving great popularity in the United States.

Juventus and Boca Juniors have both had their own fly-on-the-wall series' produced by Netflix.

After seeing the success of the Man City show, Amazon are planning another series.

And they decided to go after one of the most interesting clubs in Europe right now: Liverpool.

The Reds, managed by the charismatic Jurgen Klopp, reached the final of the Champions League last season and have made a perfect start to the 2018-19 campaign.

Klopp says no

It’s no surprise that Amazon tried to convince Liverpool to let the cameras in.

But Klopp is chiefly responsible for turning down the approach.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool’s top brass, including owner John Henry, were ready to say yes to Amazon.

But Klopp had the final say and he was ‘fully against the intrusion’.

The Liverpool boss believes there is nothing to be gained from such intrusive access and that people’s behaviour changes when the cameras are on.

The Mail add that Klopp probably would have been aware of the 2012 documentary 'Being Liverpool', which didn’t show Brendan Rodgers in a good light.

Amazon now hope to strike a deal with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

It’s a shame that Klopp turned them down but it’s easy to see why he did.

His sole focus in on winning trophies with Liverpool; he’s never shown an interest in anything else.

And there’s a certain pressure on Klopp to start collecting silverware at Anfield after losing three finals and spending more than £150 million in the most recent transfer window.

So opening the doors to the cameras doesn’t really make much sense.
