When Bobby Lashley made his WWE return earlier this year, fans were expecting a lot of big things.

Arguably, they haven't happened yet, and The Dominator's run so far has been pretty stale - of course though, that's not his fault.

A POOR FACE

Since joining the RAW roster one night after WrestleMania, Bobby has been performing as a face.

He has been in big feuds with the likes of Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns, but even while impressing in both of these, there's a feeling amongst fans that he's better off as a heel.

After all, he was so good at playing the bad guy in TNA - so it's odd that Vince McMahon has brought him back the way he has.

In fact, that also appears to be strange to Lashley himself, who's recently been speaking about his WWE return.

RUNNING THE CIRCUIT

While appearing on The Big J Show recently, Bobby explained why he left WWE in the first place, way back in 2008.

"I wanted to work with some of the people that I probably would have never had the opportunity to work with before," he said, per Wrestling Inc

Interestingly, the subject of WWE Champion and former TNA star AJ Styles came up - and Lashley expressed disappointment about not being able to work with him on the independent circuit.

"No [I didn't work with Styles], not while I was in TNA," the RAW star began. "He was going out while I was coming in and he was involved with these other things."

A DREAM MATCH

After not having the opportunity to work together in TNA, the pair are both now in the same company - and Lashley named The Phenomenal One as his dream WWE opponent.

"The thing with AJ is... a crazed good guy needs a crazed bad guy. When I flip that switch and you see that bad side of me like I had in TNA, I believe I'm a perfect person to AJ's good."

That's a very interesting choice, considering the pair are on different brands and right now, a match looks highly unlikely.

Also, Lashley spoke about needing to be the 'crazed bad guy' in that feud - which perhaps suggests he's not too happy with his current booking.

Hopefully, he'll get his dream match one day - and then, fans will get to experience a heel Lashley too - and that would be very exciting indeed.
