LeBron James brought his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in his career this summer when he opted out of his contract with the team.

As a free agent, the four-time MVP winner signed a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, changing the landscape in both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference as a result.

While the Lakers were propelled into playoff contention, the Cavs were pushed back from title contender to almost in a full-blown rebuild.

Smackdown in the middle of that rebuild is Kevin Love, who signed a four-year extension with the Cavaliers back in July.

However, Love doesn't have any hard feelings towards LeBron for leaving Cleveland for Los Angeles.

In fact, the Cavs star sent a heartfelt text to the new Lakers star upon his departure from the team, and he revealed what the message said in a recent interview on ESPN’s Get Up!, via For The Win.

He said: “Well, I thought LeBron’s always looking for a new challenge. He’s always looking for a new opportunity. And with what he’s doing on the court and off the court, I think he wanted to see how he can impact another team, and LA was the right fit for him.

"But I didn’t really know it until — I kind of had a feel for it towards I would say free agency. But I actually got the news when I was in New York, looked at my phone and though, ‘OK, well, he’s off to the Lakers.’ I mentioned that I wished him the best.

"I texted him, told him I loved him. And then we go from there.”

It might still be possible for the Cavs to make the playoffs, but they're not expected to be in any of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference.

Love will continue playing a key role in any future success the Cavs have after signing a $120 million extension with the team this offseason.
