Manchester United faced a difficult match against newly-promoted Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have been playing some eye-catching football of late and would have fancied their chances of causing an upset against the Red Devils. However, Jose Mourinho’s side have also been in good form of late and were determined the continue their march up the Premier League table. There was an extra boost for the United fans and players before kick-off as Sir Alex Ferguson made his first appearance at Old Trafford after suffering a brain haemorrhage in May.The legendary Scottish coach received a standing ovation from the United supporters and his presence may well have inspired Mourinho’s team. The hosts took the lead in the 18th minute through summer signing Fred, who became the 500th different player to score a competitive goal for United. However, it was the wonderful assist from Paul Pogba which had everybody talking. The ball fell to Pogba on the edge of the box and the Frenchman produced a sublime deft touch, which left Fred a clear shot on goal. It’s arguably the best assist - and touch - of the Premier League season so far.Genius. That’s why United paid £89.3 million for him in 2016.Needless to say, United fans can't get enough of that assist...

Pogba has now scored four goals and provided two assists this season. Don’t tell Graeme Souness, but the 25-year-old is currently enjoying a very decent season.

The Frenchman, who won the World Cup with Les Bleus in Russia, has struggled for consistency since rejoining United two years ago.

However, with his confidence boosted following that World Cup triumph, Pogba is now making an impact on a weekly basis for his current employers.

Whether Pogba still wishes to leave Old Trafford, though, is unclear.

It’s been reported this weekend that Barcelona have organised for scouts to attend every United game this season in order to run the rule over the world-class midfielder.
