Lincoln-born defender Jamie Clapham scored a perfect free-kick to secure Lincoln's first win in five games came with a 2-1 victory over Macclesfield.

The former Spurs and Birmingham veteran left Macclesfield keeper Jose Veiga rooted to the spot with a fine left-foot set piece from 20 yards after 68 minutes.

Moses Swaibu had ended managerless Lincoln's eight-hour goal drought when he slid in on the back post to convert Adam Watts' 38th-minute cross.

But former Lincoln defender Hamza Bencherif was left unmarked on the back post to draw the visitors level after 55 minutes.

Both sides created chances in an even first half. A header from Lincoln midfielder Josh O'Keefe was held by Veiga after just two minutes.

Macclesfield responded when winger Matt Hamshaw was put clear by Emile Sinclair after seven minutes but his shot deflected wide.
