Phillip Lindsay has enjoyed a whirlwind start to his career in the National Football League.

After a five-year college stint that saw him finish life as a student-athlete as the University of Colorado's number one leading rusher of all-time, the speedy running back went undrafted before getting picked up by the Denver Broncos.

Lindsay was signed by the Broncos for little more than a $15,000 signing bonus and so far he's repaid that and then some - putting up nearly 200 all-purpose yards and a touchdown through his first two games.

Entering the third game of his pro career, Lindsay was expected to carry on his fine work and keep on establishing himself as a threat in the league.

It didn't quite go that way, however. Instead, the running back was tossed from the game early doors after a very severe rush of blood to the head.

After Ravens' veteran linebacker Terrell Suggs forced a Case Keenum fumble, Lindsay dove into a pile with several of his teammates all trying to get the ball back.

Things always get testy in a big pile and non-football players like you and I have no real idea what goes on in there - but it's always very ferocious and not for the faint of heart. It looks like Lindsay objects to a Ravens players' overzealousness to get the ball.

Lindsay starts throwing punches while in the pile and, shockingly, the referees didn't look upon it too kindly - kicking him out of the game and back to the locker room for an early bath.

After the game, Lindsay explained that he was going after the ball and that he “went to try and hit it out.”

Last week, Lindsay became the first undrafted player in NFL history to record 100-plus total yards in each of his first two games. He needs to stay on the field if he wants to keep putting up numbers.
