Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin was the highlight this past weekend with Wembley Stadium being the venue and millions watching worldwide on pay-per-view.Joshua successfully continued his undefeated streak, while his Russian counterpart was knocked out in the seventh round and for the first time was stopped inside the distance in his pro career.AJ retained his WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight world titles, managing to recoup himself after the initial onslaught from Povetkin. However, Carl Froch, who was present at ringside during the showdown, working as a commentator for Sky Sports, had a message for one of his former rivals.Surveying the arena ahead of the bout with his colleagues alongside him, Froch went inside the ring and recorded a short clip, giving his fans on social media a view of the entire stadium from a boxer’s perspective. The 15-second long video shows the former British fighter describing the scenes in the build-up to the Joshua vs Povetkin fight.Froch said: “I’m at the Wembley Stadium, absolutely pouring with rain ahead of the AJ-Povetkin fight.”Right then, fans noticed the 41-year-old tag the current WBA super-middleweight champion George Groves at a particular section of the ring.Pointing towards the spot, Froch added: “Actually, that spot there is where George Groves landed.”

Seems like Froch is not willing to let Groves forget about that night in 2014 at the iconic stadium, where he knocked out his compatriot in the eighth round, which later turned out to be the final fight of his pro career.

Groves is set to take on Callum Smith at the World Boxing Super Series final on September 28, but it remains to be seen if the 30-year-old replies to Froch, or lets his actions inside the ring do all the talking.

It seems that Froch still can't go an event without bringing up his glorious day.
