British boxing is set for a whirlwind end to the year.Anthony Joshua recorded his 22nd consecutive victory over Alexander Povetkin on Saturday night and there are plenty more big fights to come. Two Brits go toe-to-toe on Friday night in the World Boxing Super Series final as George Groves takes on Callum Smith in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. And on December 1, the biggest fight of the year see's Tyson Fury make a trip to the US to try and inflict a first loss on Deontay Wilder's record. But perhaps the most anticipated bout from British boxing fans is Tony Bellew's attempt to defeat unified cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Manchester. It is likely to be the Bomber's last fight, regardless of the result and it is undoubtedly his toughest opponent yet.Usyk is a former Olympic gold medalist and effortlessly dispatched the imperious Murat Gassiev in his last fight. However, it seems the Ukrainian is still being seriously underrated by some, with Johnny Nelson making a very unpopular comment as part of the punditry team for the Joshua fight. The former cruiserweight world champion believes Bellew can actually 'outbox' Usyk. As expected, boxing fans weren't in the mood to agree.

BOXING FANS REACT

Nelson also remarked that he didn't believe Usyk was 'the finished article', which seems ludicrous given the belts and medals he already possesses.

You have to wonder if even Bellew himself would agree with Nelson.

The Bomber and Usyk had their first press conference today and Bellew explained how he can beat the Ukrainian.

"The more you write me off, the more I want to fight. I’m going up against the monster. Make no mistake he’s looking past me already," Bellew said.

"For the first time in his whole career he sees a man looking back at him who believes he can win.

"I have the one thing he doesn’t have and that’s a punch that can switch the lights off in the blink of an eye.”

Those comments suggest even Bellew knows who is the better technical fighter...
