Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba's relationship appears to be reaching breaking point.

The talented French midfielder criticised his manager's tactics after Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves on Saturday.

“When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford,” Pogba told reporters.

Asked about what is stopping the team from playing the way fans are often crying out for at Old Trafford, he said: “I can’t tell you because I’m a player. It’s not me.

“I’m not the manager, I cannot, like, say that, but obviously we should show more options of playing."

Unsurprisingly, Pogba's comments did not go down particularly well with his Portuguese manager.

According to The Times, Mourinho held an impromptu team meeting on Tuesday ahead of their Carabao Cup game against Derby County.

And the 55-year-old coach informed the Man United players that Pogba will never be captain again.

“José Mourinho told the players that Paul Pogba will not be the captain because he doesn’t represent what a captain is and Manchester United is bigger than anyone,” a Carrington source said, as per The Times.

It has also been revealed how Pogba's teammates reacted to the news.

“The players were happy with that decision and the reasons behind the manager’s decision,” the source added.

So, it appears they're backing the manager's decision - perhaps they too are fed up of Pogba's antics.

He's captained the Red Devils on three occasions this season

The 25-year-old World Cup winner tried to force through a transfer to Barcelona days before the window closed but United chiefs were unwilling to sell their prized asset.

Meanwhile, his performances on the pitch have been inconsistent.

Pogba was the man at fault for the Wolves equaliser after he was dispossessed in midfield, allowing the visitors to counter and score.
