It's fair to say that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one of the NFL's surprise packages this year. In week 1, they beat the New Orleans Saints 48-40 in one of the most epic opening season games of recent memory. Seven days later, the Bucs pulled off an even bigger shock, beating the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Philadephia Eagles, 27-21.

JUST SHADED OUT

However, on Monday night, Tampa were beaten by the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers - handing Dirk Koetter and his team their first loss of the 2018 season.

It was quite a crazy game at Raymond James Stadium, and that's because the visitors scored all 30 of their points in the first half.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was on fire, throwing three touchdowns and a total of 353 yards - those numbers, combined with three field goals, had Pittsburgh well on top throughout.

However, Ryan Fitzpatrick did try to pull his team back into it in the second half, despite being 30-10 down after two quarters.

He almost managed it too, by throwing two touchdowns inside the final 15 minutes, bringing the Bucs to within three points.

It wasn't enough though, as Tampa fell to their first loss of the year leaving just the Los Angeles Rams, the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs with perfect 3-0 records.

As if losing wasn't bad enough, one Bucs player had an even tougher night - as he picked up a serious injury.

TOUGH TO TAKE

Starting safety Chris Conte has been placed on injured reserve this week - and it's unclear how long he'll be out.

His absence is a big loss to the franchise and an already thin Bucs secondary has since become even more desperate.

Now, Conte has officially been placed on reserve after suffering a knee injury, but some NFL fans believe there's another reason he's been taken off the team.

Sheer embarrassment.

A LOWLIGHT

In Monday's loss to the Steelers, Conte recorded a lowlight - as he was absolutely destroyed by a stiff-arm from Vance McDonald.

The incident happened early in the first quarter, and it's brilliant to watch. Check it out below.

Of course, Conte is obviously out of action with a knee injury and he's not been placed on IR because of that stiff-arm embarrassment - but NFL fans love to joke.

Damn, that's some serious social media heat. Hopefully, by the time Conte returns from injury, fans will have forgotten about it - then again, some will probably remind him of this forever.
