The heel turn of Becky Lynch is not a move that every WWE fan agreed with.

WWE Universe members alike were almost in unanimous agreement that the 'Lass-kicker' deserved better than losing random tag team matches on SmackDown Live.

It looked like a change of fortunes might have occurred at SummerSlam as she guaranteed herself a SmackDown Women's Championship match against Carmella, but Charlotte Flair was also added to the bout, and it was Flair that walked away from Brooklyn the victor.

And that was the catalyst to Lynch's sudden character change. Beating down her 'best friend' following the match, a bitter rivalry has ensued on the blue brand, and Lynch took the title off Charlotte at Hell in a Cell two weeks ago.

Lynch has transformed into a cocky, no-nonsense form of herself, and has become more brutal in her attacks.

There was one part of the turn that didn't make sense with the fans though - as Lynch cut a promo the SmackDown after SummerSlam, she trashed the fans for not being with her in her title pursuit.

But the fans were with her, and speaking to former ring announcer Lilian Garcia on her 'Chasing Glory' podcast this week, Lynch admits that trashing the fans didn't make much sense at all.

Speaking about the whole going against the fans promo, Lynch stated: "The crowd were like, 'C’mon now Becky. You know that we were there with you the whole time', I’m like ‘yeah, look I’m going through some stuff right now. I’m trying to figure it out!'

“It’s hard for me to say it’s your fault. It’s on you guys. Because the whole time they’ve been cheering for me. They’ve supported me and they’ve put me in the position to win sometimes.

"And even when we talk about the first-ever SmackDown Women’s champion, the crowd wanted me to be the champion. So they dictate a lot.

"So I think it just doesn’t make sense that I would talk about how bad and how wrong they are. Because they’ve obviously made their voices heard and supported me the whole time.”

And Becky is bang on the money. It didn't make sense the whole time, and the WWE could have avoided the whole confusing aspect if they just made Lynch a female Stone Cold Steve Austin from the start.

Despite herself saying she's happy with the turn of character, with Vince McMahon stating to her that he wants to see 'different layers' to her personality, the whole bashing the fans could have rather not been done.

She definitely suits the new role though, and at this current rate, even if she ran over Charlotte in a car and tried to kill her, the fans would still cheer for her.
