There are huge expectations on the Los Angeles Lakers this season due to the talent which LeBron James brings to the court and how he makes anyone playing around him better.

For Lonzo Ball, however, the expectations for him were already high as many people expect him to make the jump in his second year in the league at the point guard position.

With this in mind, plus the requirements that LeBron asks of his teammates, you would think Ball would be intimidated to play alongside the King this season, who was also his idol growing up.

This isn't the case for the point guard though. Speaking to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Lonzo said playing alongside James doesn't make him nervous as he just sees him as another person.

He said: “Nah, I’m never nervous to play with nobody. He’s just another person at the end of the day. He’s not God.”

Ball participated in a full-contact practice on Thursday for the first time in training camp, the most intense basketball he's played in five months after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in July.

It was also the first time he had shared the court with his childhood idol, but he's not been fazed by it one bit.

Ball is on track to be available to play for the Lakers in their season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 19, but he is unlikely to play during the preseason.

The point guard said when asked when he would be available for the Lakers: "Hopefully as soon as possible. But Sunday I will be out and then take it day by day."

It's clear as day that Ball doesn’t feel the pressure of having to play alongside one of the game’s all-time greats, which can only mean good things for the future of the Los Angeles-based franchise over the next couple of seasons.

The expectation would be to eventually deliver a title, but simply helping the team get back into the playoffs and improving his individual performances would be a step in the right direction for Lonzo.
