Eden Hazard's incredible start to the season has certainly got people wondering if he's now the best player in the Premier League.

The Belgian has followed on from an excellent World Cup with six goals for Chelsea already - a remarkable feat considering he's only started four games so far.

Having started the season with two assists from two substitute appearances, Hazard has scored in six of the following seven games for club and country.

His sixth of the season for Chelsea came on Wednesday at Anfield as he won the game with an exceptional strike.

After some great buildup play on the right flank, Hazard drove past Naby Keita, nutmegged Alberto Moreno inside the box and smashed it into the far corner of the net to make it 2-1.

Jamie Carragher was commentating on the game for Sky Sports and he immediately declared that the Belgian was the best player in the Premier League.

Right now, that's certainly difficult to argue with, even with the season being so young.

And writing in the Telegraph, Carragher has expanded on his point.

"Hazard brings something the others do not," explained Carragher. "Dribbling ability, running at pace, beating several men from deep before delivering a spectacular finish.

"He has the capacity to make you shout ‘wow’ as I did when he scored the goal that knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup."

Carragher also listed Hazard's rivals - the five others who make up the best that the Premier League has to offer.

"There are outstanding rivals worthy of inclusion in this debate," he wrote. "Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and David Silva are among the best.

"All possess special qualities. De Bruyne and Silva are artists with the ball. Kane, Aguero and Salah are killers in and around the penalty area."

Exactly who the best is will obviously be up for debate - and it's certainly a heated one right now.

Salah, the reigning Player of the Year, will have his supporters, while many believe De Bruyne should have won it.

Aguero has started the season on fire alongside arguably Manchester City's greatest ever player in Silva.

And Harry Kane's incredible goal record means he can't be far away from the top.

One thing is for sure: the Premier League is blessed with some incredible talent right now.
