It's one thing to score a goal against your old club, but to score two in one week and one of them being a last-minute screamer - now that's pretty special. And that's exactly what Daniel Sturridge did against Chelsea on Saturday as he came off the bench in the 86th minute, with Liverpool losing 1-0, and rescued a point.Sturridge also scored an overhead kick against the Blues in midweek but his strike at Stamford Bridge was on another level. From 25 yards out, the Englishman curled an inch-perfect shot into the top-right corner to give Kepa Arrizabalaga absolutely no chance.Jurgen Klopp needed his second-choice striker to make an impact from the bench to maintain Liverpool's unbeaten record and boy did he."It was just trying to get into that position, to get on the ball and players like Shaqiri always play it forward as much as possible," said Sturridge afterwards."I just tried to create myself as much time as possible. I saw [N'Golo] Kante coming and took one touch and didn't think about it too much and just took the shot on. It felt great.

STURRIDGE SAVES THE DAY

"Obviously I've played for this club (Chelsea) and got a lot of respect for the players, staff and everything, so I didn't want to celebrate today. But it's a great feeling to help get a result."

Sturridge's goal sent his teammates and the Liverpool bench wild as Klopp ran over to Mohamed Salah and gave the Egyptian a hug.

It was a deserved point for the Reds and Alisson's celebration down the other end of the pitch summed up how relieved the players were.

A photo is being shared by Liverpool fans of Sturridge after his goal because Alisson can be seen in the background on his knees and pointing up to the sky.

Now that's passion. Alisson was phenomenal for Liverpool and one teammate he's really impressed since joining in the summer is Sturridge.

"Top drawer," said the striker when asked about Alisson's performance. "He had a great game. He was unfortunate not to get a clean sheet but he's a world-class goalkeeper.

"We've got some good young goalkeepers at the club too but he's showing his qualities and it was just important to keep going. Our defence have been really good also."
