The course of Loris Karius' career completely changed on May 26, 2018.Having enjoyed a brilliant end to the season with Liverpool, the German goalkeeper was selected between the sticks for a historic Champions League final with Real Madrid in Kiev.Unfortunately, Karius endured a nightmare performance in the game - potentially hampered by concussion - and made inexplicable mistakes that saw Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale score. His display prompted Liverpool to invest in Alisson Becker who has become the club's number one goalkeeper and Simon Mignolet has slotted into the back-up position. In the space of a few weeks, Karius' Liverpool career had dramatically altered and the decision was made for him to join Besiktas on a two-year loan deal.

Shaky debut for Karius

Although Jurgen Klopp openly admitted he was willing to give Karius another chance, it looked a shrewd decision for Karius and he has enjoyed plenty of game-time since joining.

Nevertheless, the 25-year-old accumulated some unwanted publicity when his debut performance against Bursapor saw him make a brilliant save but also concede a very soft goal.

The general consensus was that Karius could have done much better with Diafra Sakho's strike and looked very uncertain when the cross came in.

How is Karius faring now?

However, since his debut, news about Karius has declined on English shores and it the begs the question: just how is he getting on in Turkey?

Well, in short, very well and clips from his most recent performances with Besiktas show Karius is starting to show the attributes that saw him praised earlier this year.

Karius was particularly impressive in the crunch game with Fenerbahce - encouraging tribute videos from Liverpool fans - and made a superb save against Kayserispor.

That's not to mention a promising all-round showing Altinordu, but be the judge yourselves and take a look at the clips for Karius below:

Of course, the Super Lig doesn't quite compare to the quality of the Premier League and Champions League yet it's certainly promising to behold Karius with his confidence back.

Seeing him string together impressive performances really can't be underrated with the events of Kiev sparking a run of mistakes throughout pre-season.

Supporters wondered whether Karius would ever be the same goalkeeper again after dropping clangers against Tranmere Rovers and Borussia Dortmund.

However, it seems time out of the spotlight in Turkey has done him the world of good and he's already becoming a popular figure in Istanbul.

The club's ever enthusiastic fanbase has taken to him brilliantly and even praised him recently for showing true appreciation for supporters at full-time of a league fixture.

Whether or not he'll play for Liverpool again remains unknown but Kopites can take positives from Karius starting to find his feet again with Besiktas.
