Manchester United’s rocky start to the season got even worse on Saturday when they were comfortably beaten 3-1 by West Ham at the London Stadium.

The loss came just days after they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Derby.

Despite already being nine points off the pace after just seven Premier League matches, it’s perhaps the off-field problems that are the biggest concern at the club right now.

The relationship between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho appears to be irreparable after their constant bickering.

But it seems Pogba isn’t the only United player Mourinho is at war with.

In pre-season, he fined Anthony Martial for returning home from their US tour due to the birth of his son.

He also dropped Alexis Sanchez from the 18-man squad against West Ham due to his recent performances, while reports claim he’s also called out Marcus Rashford in recent team meetings.

But a new report from the Daily Mail now claims that Mourinho has fallen out with club captain Antonio Valencia.

It states that the Portuguese boss wasn’t happy that the right-back failed to turn up for last week’s Carabao Cup loss at Old Trafford despite not being involved.

“It has emerged that he criticised Antonio Valencia for not attending last week’s Carabao Cup defeat by Derby County in his role as club captain before dropping him for the trip to West Ham,” the report says.

“Mourinho is understood to barely be on speaking terms with skipper Valencia having stripped Paul Pogba of the vice-captaincy in his ongoing fallout with the Frenchman.”

When you start falling out with your club captain, you know you’re in trouble.

It seems that Mourinho’s situation at United is beyond repair and a bad result against Valencia in the Champions League tonight, or against winless Newcastle at the weekend, will surely spell the end of his helm at Old Trafford.
