Liverpool fans were unsure how to feel when they were drawn in the hardest Champions League group of the year.

Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade are the teams standing in the way of the last-16, with Liverpool already beating PSG 3-2 at Anfield.

Fans were excited for the tests ahead, but there were those who wanted an easier passage to the knockout rounds.

Liverpool face one of their toughest games of the season away at Napoli on Wednesday and we've decided to come up with a combined XI for both teams.

This team would be the overwhelming favourites for the competition, no doubt.

GK - ALISSON BECKER

The Brazilian is one of the best in the business and has settled in very quickly at Liverpool.

RB - ELSEID HYSAJ

Trent Alexander-Arnold is getting better by the week, but the Albanian full-back just nicks this one after years of consistency in Serie A.

CB - VIRGIL VAN DIJK

Arguably the best centre-back in the world at the moment, there's pretty much no team the Dutchman wouldn't get into.

CB - KALIDOU KOULIBALY

If Van Dijk had the Senegalese defender next to him, it would be the finest centre-back partnership in world football.

LB - ANDREW ROBERTSON

Faouzi Ghoulam is a top left-back, but like Van Dijk, there are few teams in the world that the Scotsman wouldn't break into in 2018/19.

CM - ALLAN

Liverpool's midfield has looked excellent this season, but Allan has been the hallmark of consistency, tenacity and brilliance during his time in Naples.

CM - GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM

James Milner is unlucky to miss out, but Wijnaldum has been widely recognised as Liverpool's finest midfielder this season by fans.

CM - PIOTR ZIELINSKI

We're yet to see too much of Naby Keita to include him, so Zielinski gets the nod. A goal-scoring midfielder that Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in.
