WWE loves paying tribute to superstars from the past that had a big impact on the company. They showed homage to more legends from the past during the Mixed Match Challenge last night after SmackDown Live took place.I took place during the Rusev and Lana vs Jimmy Uso and Naomi match on the show, and they paid tribute to Rikishi and the stable Too Cool.During the match, dance contests took place between Lana and Naomi, and Rusev and Jimmy Uso. When it was The Bulgarian Brute's time to dance, he did something special. With Rusev stood in the middle of the ring encouraging the crowd to clap for him, Jimmy then handed his opponent a pair of yellow sunglasses, and he put them on.With Rusev looking like Rikishi, the two then did the pose of Too Cool and it almost looked like they would dance together. However, just as they were about to dance, Rusev hits Jimmy with a round kick to the head and gets a near fall.

The match ended with Jimmy and Naomi picking up the win via pinfall, but the tribute to Rikishi and Too Cool during the contest had many fans talking on Twitter.

Rikishi and Too Cool have only made sporadic appearances for the WWE in recent years, but they haven't appeared in the company for some time, so it would be great to see them again. Perhaps at SmackDown 1000?

However, they wouldn't be appearing as a full group, as Grand Master Sexay (also known as Brian Christopher Lawler) sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 46.

The moment, despite it being short, shows as well just how complete of a wrestler Rusev is, and further backs the point that he needs to be utilized more by the WWE.

At the moment on SmackDown Live, however, The Bulgarian Brute is being used in a feud alongside his wife against his former friend Aiden English.
