After his irresistible start to the season, Eden Hazard is now being mentioned in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite easing his way back into proceedings after helping Belgium finish third at the World Cup this summer, Hazard has already notched seven goals in eight appearances in all competitions - and is currently the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

For so many years, the Belgian has shown glimpses of elevating his game to the next level.

However, he’s lacked the consistency to rival Messi and Ronaldo for Ballon d’Or honours.

But now, under Maurizio Sarri, he’s in the form of his life.

It’s hard to determine exactly what has changed but one thing remains - his ability to beat a defender with the ball.

Hazard doesn’t exactly have blistering pace but he beats defenders with such ease.

But how?

Well, a nine-minute video has emerged showing Hazard’s special move - ‘The art of turning’.

It shows countless examples of Hazard receiving the ball and turning an opponent with ease.

His favourite move is picking up the ball with his back to the defender, waiting for him to get close and then using the outside of his foot to turn.

It works so well and there’s very little that the opponent can do.

Take a look:

While Hazard appears to just want to play football and not focus on individual plaudits, his manager believes he’s got the ability to be the best in the world.

"In the last five years, Cristiano has played like a striker. Messi like a striker, Eden sometimes like a winger," said Sarri.

"Eden can improve. We are talking about one of the most important players in Europe now but, in my opinion, he can improve more.

"He can be the first. It depends on him. The best for technical skill, the best for scoring, but I think it depends only on him. On his mind.

"Hazard, technically, is really one of the best in Europe at the moment. He has to work from the physical point of view, of course."
