The WWE are always on the lookout for fresh talent to join the company.

Whether that is for the main roster or NXT, lots of new faces inevitably make the jump to the 'big leagues' over the course of a year.

When other companies such as New Japan Pro Wrestling have top-tier talent that are known worldwide, chances are that Vince McMahon will make a play for them.

In 2016, Vince completed a quadruple swoop of the NJPW roster - taking AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and Shinsuke Nakamura to the WWE.

And there's one glaringly obvious group of talent currently competing in the 'Land of the Rising Sun' that would be targeted by WWE - the Bullet Club.

The well-known faction have transcended into popular culture and host arguably some of the finest professional wrestlers on the planet.

Kenny Omega is perceived by many to be the best wrestler in the world today - and was ranked so by Pro Wrestling Illustrated this year.

The Young Bucks - Matt and Nick Jackson - have won Tag Team Championships all around the world with their inventive high-flying style.

And since joining the Club, Cody Rhodes has re-invented himself and even hosted his own 10,000-attended independent show - ALL In.

But neither of the four men are the one that WWE allegedly made a play for.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, per Cageside Seats, the 'E came after Adam 'Hangman' Page instead, but he decided to turn them down and stick with the stable.

Out of all the Bullet Club members, Page is probably the least-known to an audience that just watches WWE, as the likes of Omega, the Bucks and especially Cody are known in parts across the United States.

But he is the youngest so there's scope for improvement, but there's every chance he'd just get lost in the shuffle, or get sent to NXT and never make it to the main roster.

It was hinted in the Bucks' YouTube show 'Being The Elite' that WWE turned down Page, a fictional note given to Hangman by 'Triple H' comedically stated 'Nice try. If you want to be an assassin, try being more cerebral' - an obvious play on The Game's 'Cerebral Assassin' nickname.

However, it's well-known within wrestling circles that the contracts of the majority of the group, bar Marty Scurll, are expiring with NJPW and Ring of Honor come January 2019 - with Rhodes himself stating: "I know the big what-to-do is, oh, January 1 we are going to show up on WWE... Pretty possible."

So if the bigger names decide to jump ship to the WWE, you could actually see Page and the rest of the Bullet Club on Raw or SmackDown in the near future.
