If there's one day which many New England Patriots fans are hoping never comes it's the day which Tom Brady decides to retire from the NFL.The quarterback has been the face of the franchise for many years, helping the team win five Super Bowls since being drafted in 2000.At some point though, Brady is going to have to call it a day, and while some might think it will be doom and gloom for the franchise after that, one player showed last night that it might not be.Patriots running back Sony Michel complemented Brady's work through the air with hard running on the ground to help the team beat the Indianapolis Colts last night 38-24.The rookie finished the game with 18 rushes for 98 yards and a touchdown, as well as a catch for 12 yards. He now has 210 rushing yards over the last two games and has also found the end zone in each of the last pair of contests. His best run of the night though came on his scoring play, and it also showed the Patriots fanbase why the team's future is bright, even after Brady's eventual retirement. On the play with 7:08 remaining in the fourth quarter, Michel stiff-armed his way into the endzone on a 34-yard rush, securing the result for New England.

With his performance vs Colts, the running back became the first Patriots rookie to go over 95 rushing yards in two consecutive games since Robert Edwards in 1998.

Michel's 34-yard stiff-arm score wasn't the only memorable touchdown scored on the night, as Brady also threw his 500th career touchdown to Josh Gordon, who scored his first touchdown for the franchise.

The rookie has shown over the past two games for the Patriots that he has the potential to be a stud running back and guide the team towards a bright future once Brady calls it a day.

Michel will have a chance to continue his fantastic start to his New England career when the team plays against the Kansas City Chiefs next week.
