Amir Khan has enjoyed a decent career as a professional boxer since winning a silver medal for Great Britain at the 2004 Olympics. The Bolton-born star has won 33 of his 37 fights, 20 by way of knockout. However, you get the feeling that Khan won’t be satisfied with his career unless he gets a shot at either Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather before he hangs up his gloves. The 31-year-old has enjoyed some decent wins during his career - including beating Marcos Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi and Andreas Kotelnik - but is still lacking that career-defining victory from his CV.Khan, often derided by his critics for the ‘glass chin’ which has seen him hit the canvas on several occasions over the past 14 years, has also been on the receiving end of some devastating knockouts - and this is the primary reason why he has been unable to take on Mayweather or Pacquiao. He suffered one of his most devastating knockouts against Canelo Alvarez back in May 2016 and didn’t fight again until April of this year.During that time, he did a lot of talking - some on the reality TV show, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! - and made it clear that he believes he would still beat the world’s best fighters in his weight division.Khan has won his two comeback fights - against Phil Lo Greco and Samuel Vargas - and recently said that Pacquiao would be his ideal next opponent. However, after learning that Mayweather could fight Adrien Broner later this year, Khan couldn’t resist posting the following tweet…“So I see a tweet that there’s talk about @FloydMayweather possibly fighting the problem @AdrienBroner. 🙄” Khan tweeted. “The only problem here is mayweather been ducking me for years because he knows styles make fights, my style would cause him a whole load of PROBLEMS. #getthestrap @50cent.”

Oh, no. Amir, Amir, Amir.

Mayweather has won all 50 of his professional fights and is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of all time.

How can Khan honestly believe that Mayweather has been ‘ducking’ him?

Needless to say, Khan’s eyebrow-raising tweet has sparked quite the reaction from boxing fans…

As others have pointed out, Khan’s accusation that Mayweather has been ducking him feels a bit rich considering his reluctance to set up a fight against his long-term rival Kell Brook.

As for a response from Mayweather, well, don’t expect Floyd to give Khan’s tweet the time of day.

Khan then followed up the Mayweather tweet with another beauty...

Put your phone down and log off Twitter, Amir.
