Shane McGuigan and Liam Smith have been caught exchanging heated words about their respective fighters, in the build up to Callum Smith and George Groves' super fight last week.

After a lengthy and very heated build up, Groves and Smith finally faced off last week in the final fight of the World Boxing Super Series, held at the King Abdullah Sports City Complex in Saudi Arabia.

After a frenetic and exciting 7 rounds, Smith eventually triumphed over his fellow British rival to take the Super Series crown - also taking home the WBA (super) world title belt in the process.

Now, however, in the wake of the fight, footage has emerged from the pre-fight weigh-in of Groves' trained Shane McGuigan and Smith's brother Liam Smith exchanging words regarding the opposing fighter.

Whilst Groves took to the scales, Smith's camp were caught voicing their surprise at how the rival fighter looked, labelling the Hammersmith-born fighter's appearance as 'shocking'.

Smith's camp can also be overheard saying that Groves looked more like a weathered journeyman of the sport, as opposed to a man ready to challenge for a world title the next day.

Seemingly over-hearing the remarks however, Groves' trainer Shane McGuigan was quick to fire back at the opposing camp, pointing out that his fighter looked every bit as good as his rival.

In a brief conversation with Smith's older brother Liam, McGuigan joked that his fighter 'looked good', and they would find out how good he really was tomorrow.

McGuigan also fired a dig at Callum Smith, by returning the joke - nodding his head in the direction of the Liverpudlian fighter whilst joking that he too ' looked good'

Seemingly seeing the humour of the moment, Liam Smith laughed back, and agreed that the two men would find out who the better fighter truly was the next day.
