There are few bigger names at Newcastle United than Alan Shearer. The prolific striker plundered a staggering 206 goals during his time at St. James' Park and will always be a cult hero on Tyneside.Despite his forgettable stint as manager of the Magpies where he failed to save them from relegation, Shearer will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Newcastle fans.Since his playing days, Shearer has become a respected pundit with the BBC, often working alongside Gary Lineker on their Match of the Day (MOTD) program.Shearer has also shown himself to have quite a sense of humour and he certainly needed it after MOTD tweeted a picture of a simply dreadful fan tattoo asking for his opinion on the body art.

Oh dear.

Much like the poorly executed bust of Cristiano Ronaldo that went viral not so long ago, the Shearer tattoo bears very little resemblance to the Newcastle legend.

In fact, were it not underlined with the wors "Shearer", it would be hard to tell it was actually him.

However, Shearer showed his humour with his brilliant response to the tweet by trying his best to show the tattoo does in fact, look like him.

Brilliant stuff from Shearer.

Newcastle face a struggling Manchester United in a game that might just provide the perfect opportunity to kickstart their season.

They could certainly use Shearer's unforgiving presence upfront at the moment, with Rafael Benitez' yet to register a win.

Should the Magpies pull off an upset, Shearer might have a bit more to celebrate than having his face his emblazoned on the back of a fan.

Still, you know you must have done something pretty special for a fan to go so far to show their appreciation.
