Tony Bellew explains how simple talks to agree fight with Oleksandr Usyk were

Oleksandr Usyk and Tony Bellew Press Conference

Boxing fans around the world are excited for November 10, when Tony Bellew challenges for Oleksandr Usyk's undisputed cruiserweight title at the Manchester Arena.

Tensions are already high between the pair who had their first press conference just last week where the Brit shutdown Usyk's claims that he is 'arrogant'.

However, as we edge closer and closer to the date we are starting to learn more about the fight and today is no different.

It's a fight that almost certainly wouldn't have happened had Usyk not called out Bellew after victory in the World Boxing Super Series final in July.

The Ukrainian's desire to face Bellew - who was considering retirement at the time - instantly put the Liverpudlian in a strong position to negotiate, even though he is actually the challenger in the undisputed cruiserweight clash.

Like any big title match in boxing, there is usually a lot of back and forth between the pair's teams before both parties were happy with the contract and it could be officially announced.

More often than not, various clauses and percentages can cause talks to delay but Bellew insists that wasn't the case this time around as Usyk only had one demand he insisted on including in the contract - a rematch clause.

"What surprised me was, he agreed to all the clauses and everything else but he had one demand himself, he had one demand and that was a rematch clause," Bellew explains.

"So he's not as confident as he makes out is he? I know it's standard practice in the professional world of boxing.

"But, when someones so superior and confident, like David Haye, you don't even think about rematch clauses. So it shows that he does rate me in some kind of way."

Usyk will be defending his WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine belts against
Bellew when the pair come face-to-face on November 10 in a winner-takes-all fight.

But with Bellew's recent claim about their fight contract and the said 'demand' for a rematch clause to be included, if the 'Bomber' can upset the odds and out on top, there's a good chance he could find himself back in the ring again before too long.
