Indeed, his clash with Paul Pogba at a recent training session was made visible for the world to see.The French midfielder was part of the team that beat Newcastle, and he was in for a pretty interesting evening.

Pogba's display got fans talking

Pogba started in a midfield three but when United fell 2-0 down, Mourinho made some changes.

Mata and Marouane Fellaini came on, for Eric Bailly and Scott McTominay respectively, and Pogba was dropped into a deeper position.

He was still able to influence the play, though, and Man United fans noted that his effort remained throughout as he helped inspire a thrilling comeback.

His assist for Martial's equaliser in the second half was exquisite.

The 25-year-old has his critics but he tried to help out in defence, in midfield and going forwards. And his endeavours didn’t go unnoticed.

“Pogba’s meant to be the one turning everyone against Mourinho but he’s doing everything, whilst playing at CB, to try and turn this around,” Twitter user @FourFourJordan wrote.

“Don’t question his attitude.”

Per Opta, Pogba has been involved in more Premier League goals under Mourinho - 13 goals, 16 assists - than any other Man United player.

Mourinho's players deserve credit for the fightback they showed against Newcastle.

Many fans still believe that Mourinho is the man to turn things around, and they can only hope that the performance in the second half provides the catalyst to kickstart the season.
