Manchester United snapped a four-match winless run against Newcastle United - but boy were they made to sweat. The Red Devils were 2-0 down after 10 minutes, sparking an angry response from their own supporters, before producing a spirited comeback in the second half.It was led by Paul Pogba, who took the game by the scruff of the neck and inspired his team on.Juan Mata and Anthony Martial levelled the scores and Alexis Sanchez, much-maligned during the majority of his Man United career, netted the winner in the 90th minute. It will be interesting to see whether the result has any impact at Old Trafford.Does it simply delay the inevitable, which is Mourinho’s sacking, or will it be the catalyst for a remarkable turnaround?Only time will tell.

Mourinho at full-time

Mourinho will be relieved, though. The Mirror reported on Friday that he would be sacked regardless of the outcome of Saturday’s game.

That seems unlikely to happen this weekend now, though.

Mourinho was emotional at full-time; he was spotted speaking to the camera in his native Portuguese tongue.

Fans have managed to work out what he said - and it’s explicit.

Mourinho appears to utter, “Filhos da puta”, which translates to: “Sons of b****es”.

It’s not clear who the subject of Mourinho’s outburst is, although there’s a chance he was targeting the media who reported his imminent sacking.

@EiFSoccer believe he was even more explicit.

Man United fans would prefer to see the emotional Mourinho rather than the one who puts down his own players and he certainly wore his heart on his sleeve during the Newcastle win.

“I think Jose is going to need a warm down after this game,” joked Rio Ferdinand, after watching an animated Mourinho on the sidelines.

Of course, the Portuguese coach would rather his team not fall 2-0 down so early on.

But nobody is complaining if it leads to such entertaining endings.
