The Scottish Premiership table currently has a very unusual look about it.Usually, after eight matches played, Celtic have already got on hand on the title. The Bhoys have won the league seven years running and were the overwhelming favourites to make it eight in a row before a ball was kicked this season. However, it’s all been very different at the start of the current campaign. Celtic now find themselves third in the table, having won just five of their opening eight games.Brendan Rodgers’ side are three points behind league-leaders Hearts and two behind Hibernian.Just seven points separate Hearts and seventh-placed Aberdeen right now. It really is all to play for.Rangers inflicted defeat on Hearts on Sunday, recording an impressive 3-1 victory at Ibrox.Goals from Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield put Steven Gerrard’s side 3-0 up just after the half-hour mark.Jimmy Dunne pulled a goal back for the visitors midway through the second half but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.Gerrard described his team’s performance as “sensational” and said they had made a “statement”."We've beaten a good team. We went to war with them, matched them, then our football shone through," he added, per BBC Sport."I said it before the game and I wasn't telling lies - Hearts are where they are on merit."

Sutton's tweet about Rangers amuses Celtic fans

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton would have been the first to tweet had Hearts beaten Rangers - but he was surprisingly quiet following the result.

This prompted one fan to ask why with the following message: “No tweets about Rangers hammering the league leaders Chris? Surely worth a comment!”

Sutton then amused Celtic fans with his tongue-in-cheek reply: “Very impressive Will along with getting into the top half of the table 👍“

Now that’s a burn.

Despite their impressive victory, Rangers are only in sixth position in the Scottish Premiership table - just inside the top half.

The caveat to that, of course, being that they are now just five points off top spot.

Sutton’s dig at Rangers still had Celtic fans in stitches…

But they might not be laughing for much longer if Rangers keep performing like they did on Sunday.

A title challenge from the Gers is suddenly beginning to feel like a genuine possibility.
