Arsenal look set to sign Paraguay attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron in January.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal have sealed a £15m deal for the 24-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.
He currently plays in the MLS for Atlanta United and has bagged 12 goals and 14 assists in 32 appearances this season.
“I have said it before, that my objective is to play in Europe,” said Almiron in July to NBC. “I work daily on that.
"I’m happy here in Atlanta. The club makes me feel comfortable, but yes, in 2019, hopefully I will be playing in Europe.”
It seems that Almiron's wish has come true.
Aaron Ramsey reportedly won't sign a contract extension at the Emirates and Almiron may be his ready-made replacement.
Almiron's highlights emerge
Arsenal fans will likely be interested to see exactly what their new signing has to offer.
In the five-minute compilation video, we see that the left-footed midfielder is fast, skilful, a brilliant dribbler, a composed finisher and a playmaker too.
No wonder Almiron's been likened to Riyad Mahrez.
Although it's only one YouTube video, it's clear that Arsenal will have a real talent on their hands.
Atlanta United president Darren Eales confirmed that Almiron will leave the club in January.
“Almirón’s future is already decided and will go to England in the European winter market," Eales said, as per football.london.
Despite reports to the contrary, Alex Iwobi is hopeful that Ramsey will put pen-to-paper on a new deal in north London.
"He’s a great player. When I was breaking into the first team, I always used to watch and learn things from him. I am still doing that today," Iwobi told BT Sport.
"It would be a great miss if he goes but hopefully he can stay. We all want him to stay. Hopefully it can get sorted."News Now - Sport News
