Amir Khan vs Kell Brook is a fight British boxing fans have wanted for years.Prior to the former's sabbatical back in 2016, the two British fighters just simply couldn't agree on a deal. However, with Khan now back in the ring and winning fights, it looks as if it could finally happen. The fact Khan is signed up to Eddie Hearn's Matchroom - the same as Brook - makes it even more likely. And Khan revealed to Sky Sports that he believes a major breakthrough has now been made in negotiations between the pair."Obviously me and Brook are with Eddie Hearn," said Khan. "I've left that to Eddie to do all the negotiations, to speak to both parties, to speak to his trainer, his manager, himself."But look, it's a fight I would love to have, and I think it would make a lot of money financially for both fighters, but at the same time it would be a massive fight in the UK."It's a fight that the fans want. Why not make it happen?

"Nothing can stop it. He's agreed to be 147, and also have a rehydration clause of 10 pounds. I'm happy with that.

"If he's happy to take that, so am I. That fight can happen then 147 it is, and we're with the same promotional team, so that makes the fight even easier. Let's see what happens."

So how does Brook feel about Khan's revelations? Well, the Sheffield-born fighter quickly tweeted his thoughts after seeing the interview.

BROOK'S TWEETS

He's not a happy man.

It seems to suggest that Khan's talk of a 'breakthrough' was pretty premature.

However, if Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather do agree to a rematch later this year, Brook is the only real opponent left for Khan.
