If you didn't know already, Conor McGregor was defeated at UFC 229 by Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, the story doesn't just end there.

In a bizarre turn of events, the Dagestan warrior leaped over the Octagon following McGregor's submission in an attempt to attack the Irishman's entourage.

Whilst inside the cage, McGregor had issues of his own as he came up against a number of Khabib's backroom staff who viciously attacked the Irishman.

With fans from across the world tuning into this fight, the viewers certainly didn't expect something of this nature to ever take place, with the likes of Dana White left in embarrassment.

However, former world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has had his say on the events that took place in Las Vegas, and he too couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

"I think it shouldn’t have happened since the fight was over and they’re just waiting for the decision.

"Khabib is wrong for attacking McGregor’s camp. I think a suspension or fine is in order,” Pacquiao said when speaking to the Manilla times

Regarding suspensions and fines, the UFC and the Nevada State Athletic Commision have started to investigate into the matter.

"The Nevada State Athletic Commission's primary function is to regulate unarmed combat within the state of Nevada. The events that occurred on October 6, 2018 at the conclusion of the Nurmagomedov-McGregor contest - the main event of UFC 229 - are currently under investigation by the Commission's executive director, Bob Bennett," an NSAC statement read.

"Neither the Commission nor its staff, including executive director Bennett, will comment on matters under investigation."

It has been revealed by the Las Vegas Police Department that no arrests will be made following the fight as both Khabib and McGregor do not wish to press charges.

In addition to this, Dana White added that Khabib could be stripped of his belt, however, this doesn't appear to be the case.

Khabib was welcomed with open arms by his home country and was presented with a hero's return.

Upon his arrival, his belt was presented in front of the Dagestani people.
