It was supposed to be the highlight of their respective UFC careers but neither Khabib Nurmagomedov nor Conor McGregor have come away from UFC 229 with their heads held particularly high.

Khabib certainly would have done if he, after his victory, hadn’t jumped out of the cage to attack McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.

But he did and he’s set to receive a hefty punishment as a result.

As for McGregor, he also upset many UFC fans with his behaviour.

In the build-up, the Irishman was accused of disrespecting Khabib with a series of nasty insults and gestures.

Meanwhile, there's also suggestions that McGregor’s team - most notably Danis - continued to insult Khabib from outside the octagon during the fight.

But, as Khabib caused a melee outside the cage, McGregor traded punches with members of his opponent’s party.

Investigations are now ongoing to decide the punishments each fighter will receive.

It’s also created a rivalry between the fans of McGregor and Khabib - similar to the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo fans in football.

While Khabib’s behaviour after the fight was shocking, it’s probably McGregor that’s getting the most hate for what happened before and during the fight.

And a video has emerged that attempts to show McGregor’s true colours.

Titled “If You Hate Conor McGregor Watch This • It will Surely Change Your Mind,” the YouTube video - which has been watched more than 20 million times - shows a completely different side to The Notorious.

It includes a heartbreaking story of his friendship with a very ill young fan - who sadly passed away - and his humble reactions after beating Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.

But the most remarkable part of the video is his interview after losing in the UFC for the first time to Nate Diaz.

Just take a look at the whole video:

It may not have totally changed your mind about McGregor but it definitely shows there is a nice side to him.

Maybe McGregor needs to go back to that humble side to win back some UFC fans before he makes a return to the octagon.
