The New Day are one of the most consistent acts in the WWE, bar none.Having been around for five years now and they have five tag team reigns to their name - not to mention the longest tag team reigns in modern history and the accolade of hosting a WrestleMania under their belt - it's incredible how they remain fresh.Still, when they first arrived as a trio and Vince McMahon had them preach positivity, many fans wondered if the WWE had missed the mark.Of course, they had. Ever so briefly, anyway. The New Day would turn heel and commence upon a wildly entertaining run that shows no signs of relenting.GiveMeSport spoke to Xavier Woods earlier this year at Insomnia Festival and he promised that The New Day will never turn on each other. We thought we'd test that theory when we spoke to Kofi Kingston on a conference call on Tuesday. Many fans and peers alike are pushing for the time when Kofi Kingston can become a world champion in the WWE after a stellar career. Traditionally, you can't do that in a tag-team stable without burning your bridges and going your own way.The New Day want to buck that trend and Kingston explains why the WWE would be foolish to second guess their vision.

“If they [WWE] attempt to break us up, we would walk out and that’s the last you would ever see of the New Day, so they definitely don’t want to do that because we sell too much good merch and they need us on the roster!”

Kingston also mentioned the fact that if any member of New Day won the world title, they would defend it under the New Day (Freebird) rule. To this writer, that would be something really fresh and interesting to watch - count us in.

The 37-year-old is the longest reigning tag team champion in WWE history and as a three-time U.S. champion and four-time Intercontinental champion, it seems like their is only one piece of the puzzle missing.
