No matter what superstars you enjoy in the WWE, it only really matters if one man enjoys them or not.

That man is Vince McMahon and he makes the final call on absolutely everything in WWE.

There have been tons of superstars down the years who have been getting cheers and the fans wanted them to get a push - Zack Ryder, Booker T, Rob Van Dam and Daniel Bryan spring to mind to name just a few - but Vince ultimately decides.

No doubt McMahon makes these decisions based on who will best represent the company and make him money, but sometimes, especially in the case of Bryan, you have to let the fans be heard.

Several superstars on the WWE roster today have had a push and then had it taken away almost instantly. Look at No Way Jose, Tye Dillinger and Mike Kanellis.

But, perhaps the WWE's greatest failure is losing the lustre of Asuka.

The Empress of Tomorrow was unbeaten for around two years entering her WrestleMania match showdown with Charlotte in New Orleans this year. Asuka gave up the NXT title to move up to the main roster and had won the Royal Rumble.

While some people were shocked she lost to Flair, it wasn't the end of the world by a long stretch. After all, Flair is widely regarded as the best female competitor in the world at this point, but Asuka's booking since then been questionable, to say the least.

After losing a championship feud to Carmella, she is now teaming - unsuccessfully - with Naomi.

According to Dave Scherer of PWInsiderElite.com, Vince McMahon has pulled the plug on the Japanese star because she can't cut promos. Thanks to NoDQ.com for the quotes.

“Oh there’s tons for her right now, he [Vince McMahon] just doesn’t want to — she doesn’t speak good English, I mean say what you want but that’s the bottom line. If she spoke good English I think she would be getting more. He wants you to be able to cut promos.”

That's a fair criticism of Asuka, but Triple H managed to build her into a true superstar in NXT and that didn't seem to get in his way - what's so different?

Triple H must be frustrated with how one of his former pillars of NXT is now being booked, but as we said at the very start of this article, Vince McMahon has the final say in WWE.
