Rightly or wrongly, Paul Pogba has dominated the discussion at Manchester United this season.

The Frenchman, fresh from winning the World Cup with France, has been at the centre of a discussion over not just his own future but that of his manager, Jose Mourinho.

The two of them really don't appear to get along particularly well, with passive aggressive comments in the press and a video of a training ground argument fuelling speculation that one will move on soon enough.

Exactly who that should be, however, is very much up for debate.

Pogba is probably of more long-term use to United - he is an elite player, after all - but it never looks good when a player is backed over the manager.

But then while Mourinho may not have a queue waiting to snap him up, Pogba reportedly has at least one suitor ready to spend a lot of money on him: Barcelona.

There have been the usual Barca tactics when it comes to showing their interest - players speaking about the potential transfer etc. - although nothing concrete has materialised as of yet.

And according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, there's a very good reason why nothing likely will.

The Spanish outlet claims that United's owners, the Glazer family, aren't even entertaining the idea of selling the Frenchman as they see him as 'their [Lionel] Messi'.

More than that, Pogba is considered to be the centre of the entire United project 'with or without Mourinho', suggesting that there's only one winner if things reach a conclusion.

With it being reported that there are doubts over Barcelona's ability to afford Pogba, this news would suggest that things are virtually dead in the water already.

Pogba appears to be at the top of the pile at Old Trafford and their immediate future would revolve around him - and it'll take more than Barcelona or Mourinho to stop that.
