The New York Giants' 34-13 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles last night further proved that the team needs to find a replacement for Eli Manning.

The Giants thought that they could get at least one more good season out of the 37-year-old in 2018, but Thursday night showed the world that it's time for the franchise to move on.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP finished the game completing 24 of his 43 passing attempts for 281 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception.

Although many feel as though Manning is done as a starter in the NFL, the quarterback himself is still confident in his ability, he just needs to figure out how to be more consistent.

He said to ESPN after the game: "My confidence in myself is good. I know I can play. It's just a matter of we've just got to figure out how to be more consistent and be better at home."

Manning is 112-108 as a starter for the Giants over 15 seasons, but just 43-58 in the regular season and 0-1 in the playoffs since winning his second Super Bowl title with former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin in the 2011 season.

Throughout the game on Thursday night, many Giants fans showed their frustrations with Manning by booing the quarterback.

He said in reaction to the boos: "That's something I don't get caught up in. Hey, we've got to play better football, I understand that. And we've got to find ways to be in better situations and move the ball and be a more explosive offense and a better team."

Current Giants head coach Pat Shurmur was even seen on camera urging Eli to throw the ball downfield during his team's loss to the Eagles last night, so there are clear frustrations all around.

Last season, former Giants head coach Ben McAdoo got grilled for benching Manning, but it's starting to look like he might have made the right decision.

At this current rate, New York will be in a prime position to draft their next quarterback at the top of next year's draft.

There's also a strong chance Manning won't be earning any of his $23 million in the final year of his deal with the Giants.
