WWE SmackDown 1000 is just around the corner and fans are starting to get excited as to what the company could have in store for returning legends on this special night.

SmackDown 1000 is set to take place next Tuesday night at the Capital One Arena in Washington. Several big names from the blue brand's history are expected to appear on the show.

Names already confirmed for the event include The Undertaker, Kane, Evolution members Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Triple H and Batista, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Michelle McCool, and Torrie Wilson.

Other huge names from SmackDown's history have been rumoured to appear at the event too including The Rock, Chris Jericho, Christian, as well as your usual blue brand roster.

Arguably, two of the biggest names appearing on the show, due to their work in Hollywood, could be The Rock and Batista. WWE has some rather interesting plans for them, according to reports.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has stated that for The Rock, WWE will have at least a video message on the show from him, but there is a chance he could appear in Washington on the night in person.

The Great One hasn't been involved in the WWE for some time. His last match was an impromptu match at WrestleMania 32 in 2016 against Erick Rowan.

As for The Animal, Johnson states that he doesn't expect him to wrestle at SmackDown 1000, but the event will be used to set up a match down the road for him.

This would be huge for Batista as he has expressed a desire to have another run with the WWE for some time. He recently said that he thinks about wrestling again on a daily basis.

The six-time world champion hasn't wrestled for the WWE since he competed alongside his Evolution teammates at Payback in 2014.

WWE could use SmackDown 1000 to set up a match for Batista

There is plenty of storylines which Batista could get himself involved in. Mysterio, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Orton, and Triple H are just a few superstars he could have great feuds with.

We'll just have to wait until SmackDown 1000 to see who exactly Batista could tango with for one last time inside a WWE ring.
