Swansea midfielder Mark Gower is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines after scan results highlighted a tear in his hamstring.

Gower, 32, has cut an impressive figure for Swans this term in his new central midfield role as the club compete to remain in the promotion shake-up.

But he lasted just 20 minutes of last Saturday's 1-0 victory at Reading having caught his studs in the Madejski Stadium turf, resulting in a Grade Two tear in his hamstring.

Brendan Rodgers must now look to fill the void within his effective 4-5-1 system.
