The WWE Universe was shocked last Monday on Raw as Shawn Michaels officially announced he was coming out of retirement after eight-and-a-half years away from the ring.
It was to be expected that he would be coming back, but until it's confirmed then it's nothing but talk.
In reality though, the seeds have been planted for a long while, going back to the promo war between Michaels and The Undertaker on an episode of Monday Night Raw in September.
HBK will team-up once again with Triple H to re-form D-Generation X to take on the Brothers of Destruction, after the shenanigans that occurred following the conclusion of The Game toppling The Deadman at Super Show-Down - with Michaels crashing through a table from a Chokeslam.
Aside from his impending return to the ring, Michaels is a coach at the WWE Performance Center, nurturing some of the finest up-and-coming in-ring talent in the world today.
As part of his job, HBK travelled to the United Kingdom this week for the first set of tapings for the inaugural NXT United Kingdom show on the WWE Network.
And during a dark match between former NXT Tag Team Champions Moustache Mountain and Travis Banks against Wolfgang and Joe and Mark Coffey, the Heartbreak Kid just couldn't help but get involved.
HBK intervened himself in the match as a special guest referee, and following the bout decided to deliver a dose of Sweet Chin Music to Wolfgang and the Coffey Brothers, showing that he really does still have it at the age of 53.
Michaels then posed for a picture in-ring with the winning team, striking his signature pose whilst UK Champion Pete Dunne kept his character brilliantly by just scowling.
To be fair, it seems like a good way for Michaels to shake off some ring-rust, and also give the fans a surprise feel-good moment to close the night.
We're still not sure about the bald Shawn Michaels though, that might take some getting used to.
