WWE is under a lot of pressure at the moment due to their relationship with Saudi Arabia ahead of Crown Jewel, which is set to take place in the country on November 2.

WWE is being encouraged by many people to either cancel or relocate Crown Jewel due to Saudi Arabia's current ties to an ongoing investigation of the disappearance of a journalist in their embassy in Turkey.

Several businesses have already called off meetings in Saudi Arabia or cut off ties completely with the country in light of the recent news, but WWE still plans to host Crown Jewel in the country.

As a result of the company's ongoing relationship with Saudi Arabia, reports by Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso have stated there are several superstars that have, "expressed discomfort with the idea of performing in Saudi Arabia."

This is concerning for WWE on a show point as some superstars may refuse to travel to Saudi Arabia as a result of the recent news.

Via Wrestling Inc, WWE has released a statement in response to these reports which says:

"As always, we maintain an open line of communication with our performers, as we continue to monitor the situation."

There is a strong belief that if Crown Jewel was called off by WWE, all the matches on the show would be moved to Survivor Series later on in the month on November 18.

WWE must think long and hard about this decision, as a lot is on the line for the company.

Not only is their relationship with the Kingdom, but their reputation is as well as going ahead with Crown Jewel could have a knock-on effect on the business in terms of sponsorship deals.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens but, as of writing, Crown Jewel is still going ahead in Saudi Arabia, even though some superstars in the WWE have expressed an interest in not going to the Kingdom.
