There has been no shortage of speculation surrounding Paul Pogba this season.
Manchester United have endured a tumultuous start to the campaign and their new World Cup winner has been at the heart of their performances, both positively and negatively so far.
However, rumours of a falling out with Jose Mourinho have hung over every game and a frosty exchange in training last month added new weight to the rumours.
The situation eventually culminated in Pogba being stripped of the vice-captaincy, a decision Mourinho defended publicly and could have caused further rifts between the pair.
Pogba has proven increasingly open in interviews, alluding to fines about what he says and only helping to fuel speculation that he could leave the club.
Pogba to Barcelona rumours
The most discussed potential destination for Pogba is Barcelona with his old club Juventus - now boasting none other than Cristiano Ronaldo - reportedly not interested in a move.
A switch to the Nou Camp would pose a number of obstacles but it seems Catalunya would be the location if Pogba really decided to leave Manchester.
That's all well and good, but what do the Blaugrana actually think about the possibility?
Messi's opinion on the move
Well, a report in the Daily Mail has documented how the club feels about a potential Pogba transfer and even some of their biggest players, including Lionel Messi.
International teammates Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele are cited as the main advocates of the move, but senior figures such as Messi and Gerard Pique are also keen on a move.
Messi believes 'the club would benefit from the presence and power that the French World Cup winner could provide.'
Such an enthusiasm for Pogba's physical presence is linked with the Champions League defeat to AS Roma, where they lacked a certain brawn in their midfield to secure the victory.
Ernesto Valverde is also backing Pogba to sign for the club, but Barcelona scouts aren't so sure with some deciding the Frenchman takes too many risks for a tiki-taka brand of football.
Then, of course, there are concerns about the financials involved in the deal and especially after the hefty signings of players like Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
If Barcelona can agree a suitable deal, though, it seems the move has plenty of backing at the Nou Camp, even if a few scouts are still unsure.
Besides, it can only be a positive indicator when Messi and Pique are backing the deal and it would certainly add to a Barcelona team already packed with talent.
For the moment, however, Pogba is still pulling on the famous red jersey of United and he'll hope to put the club's chaotic start to the season behind them.
This weekend's game against Chelsea could be massive for both United and Pogba's future.
