Khabib Nurmagomedov has experienced a rollercoaster week-and-a-half after securing victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
Aside from vaulting the octagon, attacking members of McGregor's team and sitting down for a chat with Vladimir Putin, he has also been plotting his next move across social media.
That started with a series of messages between him and 50 Cent, potentially setting up a move to Bellator as the Russian considers his future in the UFC.
However, the situation has now escalated to a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather.
A clip emerged of Nurmagomedov calling out the legendary boxer - who fought McGregor last August - and the 30-year-old quickly received a response.
Mayweather vs Khabib?
During an interview with TMZ on Thursday, 'Money' explained: "Oh, we fighting! I'm my own boss, so I can't say what's going on on Khabib's end, but on my end we can make it happen.
"He called me out, so he's got to come to my world."
Like Mayweather says, the fight can only happen if it's boxing as opposed to MMA and he's also pushing for the bout to take place in Las Vegas.
That's all well and good but Nurmagomeodv has expressed concerns about the location, especially considering he is awaiting an investigation from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Mayweather shares friend's video
Nevertheless, it seems Mayweather is unwilling to budge and that's certainly apparent in his latest piece of Instagram activity with the American sharing a video from his friend.
The clip shows 'ShabazzTheOG' - who has done motivational speaking for The Money Team - arguing why a Nurmagomedov fight should happen in the boxing ring.
He highlights that Mayweather has the superior professional record, the money is in the boxing ring and that 'big bank takes little bank.'
You can check out the entire video below:
Mayweather has not only shown his approval for the clip by sharing, but also by applying the caption of 'you're speaking facts.'
In the 41-year-old's defence, it probably makes more sense for the fight to take place in boxing and Mayweather is certainly the bigger pay-per-view draw.
It would also take less training for Nurmagomedov to bridge the gap into boxing than it would for Mayweather to try his hand at MMA.
However, both fighters are so superior at their respective trades that it's incredibly difficult to see a close fight happening either way.
It looks unlikely that Mayweather will budge on his condition of boxing, so Nurmagomedov would have to settle for the big payday and hope for some kind of miracle.
That being said, the Russian did show his punching power by knocking down McGregor but fighting the greatest defensive boxer in history is a whole different story.
