Liverpool fans were desperate for Nabil Fekir to arrive at Anfield this summer. After playmaker Philippe Coutinho departed Merseyside for Barcelona in January, Jurgen Klopp failed to replace the Brazilian. But Fekir was identified as the perfect replacement. It looked for all the world that a deal for the Frenchman had been agreed by Liverpool. That was until a knee problem was discovered in the medical and the deal eventually fell through. For the rest of the transfer window, there was a belief that any issues would be resolved and Fekir would still become a Liverpool player. But that simply didn’t happen. What about in January?Well, Liverpool fans have already started getting excited about the prospect of Fekir joining after images of his unveiling video were ‘leaked’ online. It’s believed that Fekir did conduct an interview prior to an official announcement in an attempt to speed up the deal just days before the World Cup.

However, a football video editor has now ended the saga.

He’s posted a video on Twitter showing that he had completely photoshopped the entire video.

VIDEO EDITOR WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR IT

Take a look:

Well played.

However, one thing that hasn’t been explained is why there’s a ‘Private Video’ under the playlist on Liverpool's official YouTube channel called 'Summer Signings 18-19.’

The video is unable to be played but remains there.

Fans believed that it contained this Fekir interview that they had seen screenshots of, but they now know that those were fake.

Liverpool fans may have to wait until January for this whole Fekir saga to start up again.
