All eyes will be on Lewis Hamilton this weekend as the Mercedes driver looks to wrap up a fifth Formula One crown with victory in the American Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Englishman has dominated the F1 calendar this season, and currently sits 50 points ahead of his nearest rival - Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

Unless one of the greatest collapses in the competition's history ensues, he will secure his fourth championsip in five years.

Having first tasted title success under the McLaren flag in 2008, the 33-year-old has blossomed since moving to Mercedes in 2013, arguably establishing himself as the most talented driver in the sport, and the leading figure in the industry.

As somewhat of a poster boy for the franchise, Hamilton appeared on ESPN's 'You Have to Answer' series, facing a series of rapid fire questions.

Somewhat predictably, Hamilton was asked to comment on some of his former driving partners.

Firstly, he was asked to choose between 2009 champion Jensen Button, and current partner Valtteri Bottas. He joking claimed that he didn't really care, with both having been junior partners to Hamilton.

The Mercedes driver also sparked controversy by picking Fernando Alonso, who worked with Hamilton during his inaugural Formula 1 championship win in 2008, over Nico Rosberg.

The 33-year-old worked with the German for three years at Mercedes, a period in which the pair's inter-team rivalry was widely reported by the press.

The two were involved in an intense battle for the 2016 title, a contest that Rosberg eventually edged, before calling time on his career aged just 31.

Contrastingly, Hamilton experienced a much-different relationship with Alonso, as the Spainard used his experience as a two-time champion to mentor the young driver in his duel for the 2008 crown with Felipe Massa.

Hamilton has spoken fondly of his former teammate, describing him as "arguably the greatest driver I've driven against'', ahead of August's Belgian Grand Prix.

A career defined by rivalries and great partnerships, Hamilton will be wary of the possibility of having to compete with Bottas in coming seasons, with the Finn looking like a good bet for a podium finish this year.

Whether the Englishman will look to taking a role in guiding Bottas in a challenge for his first championship win, or continue to target Michael Schumacher's record of 7 crowns, remains to be seen.
