Hereford fought back to claim a 1-1 draw against a battling Accrington.

Midfielder Jimmy Ryan put Accrington in front in the 25th minute but Hereford rallied with Mathieu Manset levelling the score 10 minutes into the second half.

Hereford were the first on the offensive with midfielder James McQuilkin curling a corner in to the Accrington goalmouth but it was cleared away by a Stanley defender.

Play continued to switch from end-to-end before Accrington broke the deadlock in the 25th minute through Ryan.

Ryan latched on to a pass from Liam Richardson before beating goalkeeper Adam Bartlett with a low shot into the far corner of the net.

Accrington goalkeeper Alex Cisak however came to Stanley's rescue when he made a fine stop to deny Manset with a diving save.

Cisak also turned a free-kick from Dominik (corr) Werling around the post as Hereford pushed forward.

Hereford midfielder Richard Rose was also denied when his shot was blocked by Luke Joyce before Cisak raced off his line to deny Joe Colbeck before the break.

Six minutes into the second half midfielder McQuilkin hit the Accrington crossbar from a free-kick while goalkeeper Cisak saved at the feet of Manset.

Hereford however eventually levelled in the 55th minute when Frenchman Manset raced through to lob the ball over goalkeeper Cisak into the net.

Both sides went close to snatching a second but a draw was a fair result on the day.
