It didn't take long for the Floyd Mayweather situation to ignite after Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

The highly anticipated bout saw The Eagle retain the UFC lightweight championship after forcing the Irishman to submit.

However, it's the post-fight brawl which rightfully dominated the headlines after the actions of both sides shined the sport in a negative light.

Since then, Mayweather has condemned the Dagestan native's actions, while Khabib focused on reminding Mayweather than he dropped the Notorious, something Money failed to do.

At first, it seemed like back and forth banter between the two, especially since Nurmagomedov was alongside Leonard Ellerbe.

However, Mayweather seems to be quite serious about it, even though UFC president Dana White has told fans not to pay any attention to the rumours as Tony Ferguson looks to be the next challenger at the fifth time of asking.

Now, UFC welterweight king Tyron Woodley - who has trained with Mayweather - has revealed that the American told him he's very serious about the fight and admits there's a 70% chance of the fight going ahead.

Speaking on TMZ Sports, he said: "I talked to Floyd. Floyd said it’s the real deal.

"He said later on today He’s going to meet with Ali (Abdelaziz). Ali is Khabib’s manager. He says it’s the real deal and they’re going to talk. He says MGM Grand is going to be on board. He says Showtime is going to be on board.

“He thinks it’s a 70 percent chance they are going to scrap."

Again, there's no telling how serious these talks are after the record-breaking clash against McGregor.

Khabib's manager, Abdelaziz, has already stated that a rematch with McGregor is out of the question, while also stating that Khabib would drop Mayweather if the two were to fight as Khabib doesn't get tired.

On the other hand, Daniel Cormier, Khabib's teammate at AKA claimed that should a fight happen, Nurmagomedov would get 'beat up' for 12 rounds by Mayweather, despite being his training partner and not something he wants to see.

Realistically, El Cucuy looks to be next in line while those that are wishful thinking will be hoping Georges St-Pierre can come back to the Octagon for another epic clash.

When it comes to Mayweather, the majority are hoping nothing comes to fruition.
