Liverpool maintained their unbeaten run against Huddersfield on Saturday evening with a narrow 1-0 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium. It was an unconvincing performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side with Mohamed Salah scoring the only goal of the game.Despite not hitting top form yet this season, the Reds are second only on goal difference behind Manchester City after seven wins and two draws from their opening nine matches. It was always going to a tricky trip to Huddersfield for Liverpool, especially considering the tough international break they had to endure. With players jetting off around the world and some returning with injuries, Klopp had to make several changes to his starting line-up.There still wasn’t a starting berth for summer signing Fabinho, although the Brazilian did come on to make his Premier League debut with 20 minutes remaining.Fabinho replaced Adam Lallana and helped Liverpool hold onto their slender 1-0 win.The former Monaco star has had to remain since arriving at Anfield with Klopp clearly not wanting to rush him into first-team football. But Fabinho showed that he’s almost ready with his 20-minute cameo on his Premier League debut.Liverpool fans were impressed with his display on Saturday evening and took to Twitter to sing his praises.

WHAT LIVERPOOL FANS THOUGHT OF FABINHO

Check out some of the best reaction:

Ahead of the match, Klopp spoke in detail on the situation with Fabinho and reiterated why he’s hasn’t been used too much since so far this season.

“[He is] close,” Klopp stated.

“We spoke about it that he needs to get used to different things – that’s how it is for all the players. I had this situation so often, I can’t believe how often.

“I don’t like to tell too many old stories but Ilkay Gundogan didn’t play [for] half a year [under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund]; the only difference was he was a young player from Nurnberg and nobody asked for him. He asked! He wasn’t in the squad and there were a lot of difficult moments.

“There is no problem but I can imagine in the moment that everybody asks you constantly, ‘Oh, you don’t play’ so the player is not really comfortable. For me, I don’t care too much; I have to explain it.”
