You certainly couldn't fault Chelsea vs Manchester United for entertainment this weekend.

The visitors came so close to securing a crucial win at Stamford Bridge with Anthony Martial scoring twice after Antonio Rudder's opening goal, but it just wasn't to be for the Red Devils.

Ross Barkley found the net with a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time and aside from sparking delirium in the stands, it caused unsavoury scenes on the touchline.

Jose Mourinho became involved in a scuffle with Chelsea staff after Marco Ianni decided to celebrate in front of the United bench not once, but twice.

It was certainly unprofessional from the stage member and prompted a series of apologies which Mourinho acknowledged in his post-match interview.

Chelsea-Man Utd touchline clash

"What happened was with Sarri's assistant, and Sarri was the first one to come to me to say he would resolve the problem internally with me," he recalled.

"After that his assistant come to me in Sarri's office and apologised to me. Forget it, it's over, he apologised and it's over."

However, it's simply not that easy and reports on Sunday night suggested that a full investigation will be carried on the fracas with Mike Dean mentioning it in his report of the game.

Mourinho's behaviour afterwards

According to the Mirror, Mourinho is 'sweating' over the possibility of another FA charge after recently being pulled up for comments made after the Newcastle win.

Depending on how Dean and his incidents view the episode, Mourinho and Ianni could face an improper conduct charge in the coming days.

And Mourinho's behaviour after the incident certainly won't help his case.

That's because the Mirror revealed in their report: "Mourinho carried on his rant down the tunnel, waited near the Chelsea dressing room and still furiously tried to confront Ianni after the game.

"The situation was only resolved when Chelsea made Ianni apologise to Mourinho."

The self-proclaimed 'Special One' neglected to mention that fact in interviews and if Dean brings it into the investigation, then it could spell trouble for the Portuguese.

Of course, the incident was started by Ianni but the latest update suggests that Mourinho retaliated more than enough to face punishment himself.

That's for the FA to decide, though, and Mourinho will have his fingers crossed that he avoids any consequences amid a difficult period at United.

The club came seconds away from claiming another win and in west London, it could have turned their season around after so many struggles.

The Red Devils will get the opportunity to put things right against Juventus in mid-week and Mourinho will be hoping there'll be no more drama to come.
